Post Parade 2019 "Stretch Drive" Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
$99.99Post Parade 2019 "Stretch Drive" Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
New limited-release Cabernet from Post Parade winery and legendary winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown. Limited.
93 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "Coming from all over the valley, the roughly 900-case 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Stretch Drive has a more red-fruited, spicy, loamy earth, and cedar pencil-driven style as well as medium to full-bodied richness on the palate. Balanced, seamless, and already approachable, drink bottles over the coming 10-15 years."
Like it’s big brother Post Parade, the Stretch Drive is made of Cabernet Sauvignon from Screaming Eagle neighbors the Tench Vineyard and the Redhead Vineyard.
Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown: "This vintage of Stretch Drive is another big winner, showing off a viscous, concentrated palate, and expressive, nuanced aromatics. In the glass, the wine exhibits a deep purple hue with a dark violet halo. Interwoven aromatic notes suggest currant, loam, pine bough and lilac. The palate experience offers a pleasing balancing act of dark, complex fruit and finely-integrated tannin. This bold fruit and structure are complimented by a bright acidity on the back end, drawing out to a long, floral finish."
After visiting Napa countless of times, three friends from Kentucky decided that it was time to make their own label. Enlisting the help of Frank and Kathy Dotzler (Outpost), and the most acclaimed winemaker in Napa today, Thomas Brown (Schrader, etc), they got everything they needed to make a killer bottle of wine. Post Parade is sourced from the Red Head Vineyard in Napa and the Tench Vineyard in Oakville. Thomas says that the Red Head vineyard gives structure, while the Tench Vineyard provides generosity, and we agree. Big, lush, and velvety smooth valley floor fruit mingles perfectly with the sweet tannic structure of Red Head’s hillside fruit.
