Walter Hansel's Cahill Lane (uses the same the Old Wente clone as Cuvee Alyce Chardonnay) is a beautiful, hand-crafted 100% Chardonnay from one of our favorite boutique producers down the road from Kistler. Limited.
91 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "The Walter Hansel 2022 Chardonnay Cahill Lane Vineyard is made entirely from the Wente clone of Chardonnay, from older plantings in the late 1970s and the early 1990s. In the glass, it pours a golden yellow hue, and more flinty and smoky oak aromas lift from the glass, with notes of lilac, preserved lemon, savory herbs, peach, and marzipan. Full-bodied, it’s ripe and fleshy on the palate, with its oak influence carrying all the way through. It will benefit from another 6 months to a year in bottle and drink well over the following 5-6 years. 619 cases were produced."

There are more than 80 acres of estate, so it is not small, split evenly between Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. He breaks the cuvées down by their vineyard terroir/site."

Our ability to respond to expedited requests depends on the particular wines’ availability. We work with many small-production wines which, if not in stock may need to be acquired direct from the winery and may not be available for shipping for several days after your order is placed.
