Tyler 2024 Fiddlestix Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sta. Rita Hills
A fantastic new Pinot Noir discovery from Santa Barabara producer Tyler Winery. Don't miss.
98 Points Vinous: "The Tyler 2024 Pinot Noir Fiddlestix Vineyard is one of the very best wines I’ve tasted from this site. In fact, it's one of the best wines to come out of the Sta. Rita Hills in 2024, only to be outdone by another Justin Willett wine (the Mae Chardonnay BR). Ultra-fine, polished tannins provide a gorgeous backdrop for broad, potent dark cherry fruit, with layers of wild herbs, game, blood orange peel, chalk and bitter spice. There’s a precision and reserved power here that is just so refined. It’s a wine of utter class."Â
Planted in 1997, this 133-acre property, originally a flower farm, is located just 10 miles from the Pacific Ocean. Situated directly across the street from the Sanford & Benedict Vineyard, it shares similar soils, comprising well-draining Gazos and Botella clay loam, interlaced with chert and Monterey shale. Carrying our estate packaging, this release marks our return to Fiddlestix, as Justin had sourced from here during Tyler’s early years (‘05 & ‘06). Now leading a team that successfully acquired this renowned site, he is dedicated to nurturing its bright future. This Pinot reflects the quintessence of Santa Rita—pure red fruit, signature spice, and an energetic minerality.
Founded in 2005 by Santa Barbara native Justin Tyler Willett, Tyler Winery is dedicated to crafting wines of precision, purity, and poise. From its earliest days—a few barrels tucked in the corner of a shared cellar—Tyler has grown into one of the most respected producers of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the Sta. Rita Hills. Justin’s winemaking is defined by restraint and structure, with an emphasis on expressing the individuality of each vineyard site through minimal intervention and meticulous farming.
