Turnbull 2022 Oakville 'Reserve' Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

New vintage of the rare Reserve Cabernet release from Turnbull.

93 Points James Suckling: "Perfumed aromas of wild blackberries, mulberries and dried herbs. The palate is full-bodied with fine tannins and focused acidity, showing notes of blood plums, cedar and tobacco. Refined and balanced. Drinkable now, but best from 2028."

The fruit for Turnbull's Oakville Reserve bottling comes entirely from the Fortuna and Leopoldina Vineyards. Located in Eastern Oakville, these sites are situated upon the famous volcanic red soils that the Oakville appellation is known for. The Fortuna Vineyard sits proudly on the alluvial fan at the base of the Oakville bench, and contributing red fruit and spice components. The Leopoldina Vineyard, high on the bedrock ridge above the Fortuna Vineyard, highlights structure, texture, and mid-palate weight.
