96 Points Pinot Report
Sojourn is a hot new Pinot producer and this beauty from the Sangiacomo Vineyard is a must-have - only 975 cases produced.
96 Points Pinot Report: "Deep ruby color; intense, complex aromas of cherry and leather with meaty notes; mouthfilling flavors of stewed cherry, leather and earth; very complex, great texture; great structure and balance; long finish. Intense, deep Pinot with so many interesting flavors and nuances. Really needs some air and time in the bottle to fully develop. Amazingly deep and complex, this is a Pinot that never ceases to impress me."
The 2014 Sangiacomo Vineyard Pinot Noir exhibits the lush creamy textures and dark red fruit flavors that fans have enjoyed in previous vintages. The warm growing season resulted in complex flavor development at optimal tannin levels. A small percentage of Swan clone was blended tothe traditional blend of clones 115 and 777. The resulting wine is nicely balanced with seductive aromas of dark cherry, black tea, and earthy forest floor. Textures are creamy and silky with an extra level of elegance and finesse. Fantastic farming by the Sangiacomo Family ensured that the crop was in the best possible condition on pick day, resulting in a concentrated and luxurious wine. Dedicated work in the vineyard meant extended hang-time to provide smooth tannins and balanced structure alongside vibrant fruit and complex characters. 2014 is a fantastic Pinot noir vintage and we are especially proud of the Sangiacomo Vineyard Pinot noir.

New Release from A.P. Vin, one of Pinot's hottest up-and-coming labels and sourced from the famous Kanzler Vineyard in Sonoma. Tiny production.
95 Points Brix26: "The 2015 vintage has a ton of structure with hints of blackberries and dried cherries on the nose. It's wonderfully savory on the palate specifically with fresh earth and some brown spice notes (nutmeg and cola). Another terrific wine from winemaker Andrew Vingiello."
A.P. Vin is a small-production winery based in San Francisco. Winemaker/owner Andrew P. Vingiello started the company in 2003 and made it his full-time gig in 2005. The wines he makes are single-vineyard Pinot Noir from some of the best sites in California like this limited Kanzler Vineyard release from the Sonoma Coast. The fruit from Kanzler Vineyard is some of the most coveted in all of California and only select few top Pinot Noir producers like Kosta Browne get some.
New Pinot Release from A.P. Vin, one of Pinot's hottest up and coming labels and sourced from the famous Gary's Vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands.
93 Points Robert Parker: "The Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard offers lots of savory, medium-bodied, complex notes of sassafras, scrub brush, black cherry, peppery spice and earth in a perfectly balanced, layered package. Its integrated acidity and fine tannin all suggest it will drink nicely through 2022...Winemaker Andrew Vingiello continues to make a bevy of brilliant wines. They’re always packed with fruit, yet never lose typicity or soul. All of these Pinot Noirs were mostly destemmed (a few have 25% whole cluster) and aged in French oak barrels, with an average of 50% new."
93 Points Wine Spectator: "A rich, unctuous style, with layers of mocha, blackberry, wild berry, currant and boysenberry, yet for all the richness, this glides on the palate, ending with a long, lingering aftertaste that keeps repeating the dark berry themes. Drink now through 2022. 275 cases made."
