97 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "Named after the Blue Moon that they had on August 30th, 2023, the Sequitur 2023 Pinot Noir Blue is a bright ruby hue and shines in this vintage, with a medium-bodied frame. It’s light on its feet and has notes of fruit punch, but it also has fantastic structure, with well-defined tannins and bright acidity. I love that it has such a joyful nature but also real structure, harkening to elegant Nebbiolo in terms of its texture, with a refined and earth-noted finish. Drink 2025-2045...After partnering with Maison & Domaines Henriot at Beaux Frères, Michael Etzel established Sequitur as a solo project where he has full control. The property is a 12-acre vineyard site adjacent to the winery and is biodynamically farmed. His wife, Carey Critchlow, also designs the labels. The following wines were tasted with Michael and Carey at their tasting room in Ribbon Ridge in May 2025."
Mike D. Etzel has been the co-owner and winemaker at Beaux Frères since the late 1980s and began planting a vineyard adjacent to Beaux Freres in 2010. He then launched a new project with partner Carey Critchlow known as Sequitor. The inaugural Pinot Noir under the Sequitur label was the 2014 vintage.
