Great new Chardonnay release from Patz & Hall - dont miss.
previous vintage 92 Points Robert Parker: "Oodles of tropical fruit such as pineapple guava and mango are followed by notes of honeyed tangerine and citrus oil. It is deep, rich, full-bodied, and very complex already. This should drink nicely for 5-6 years."
Patz & Hall's Dutton Ranch bottling is primarily comprised of dry-farmed, old-vine fruit from vines planted as long ago as 1969. The cool 2013 vintage produced a small crop of intensely flavored fruit. From the winery: "These low yields have accentuated this wine’s concentration, as well as its beautiful density and round, mouthcoating texture. The aromas offer ripe peach, pear, toasted almond and marzipan layers, alongside intriguing cinnamon, carnation and spice notes somewhat reminiscent of a great Gewürztraminer. On the palate, this wine is plush and lingering, with flavors or ripe pineapple and green apple. For all of its crowd-pleasing weight and texture, there is also focused acidity and a bright, crisp minerality that adds precision and length."
New Pinot release from Patz & Hall!
This beautiful wine blends a selection of fruit from small, family owned vineyard sites from Sonoma Coast, Green Valley, Sonoma Valley and Russian River Valley . Some of Sonoma's most distinguished viticulturists and vineyard owners provide fruit for this complex blend, including the Dutton Brothers, the Martinelli family, Charlie Chenoweth and Steve Hill. Reflecting its Sonoma Coast origins and the long, cool growing season, the Patz & Hall 2010 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir captures a more elegantly Burgundian expression of Pinot Noir. In the bouquet, this cool-climate charm takes the form of bright, fresh and flirtatious cherry and strawberry flavors. These fetching aromas are echoed on the palate, where complex layers of mulled cherries, strawberries and raspberries intermingle with spicy cinnamon and clove elements.
Another beauty from the Chardonnay masters at Patz & Hall - sourced from the Hyde Vineyard made famous by Kistler!
Hyde Vineyard has justifiably become one of the superstar vineyards in Carneros. The Patz & Hall 2012 Hyde Vineyard Chardonnay is perhaps the most sought after fruit in the pantheon of great California vineyards.
92 Points Robert Parker: "The 2013 Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard (1,100 cases produced) is made from the Hyde-Old Wente clone. From sandy, clay, loam soils, it offers up aromas of honeysuckle, white peach, delicate pineapple and subtle oak. Medium to full-bodied with great acidity as well as beautiful purity and freshness, it should drink nicely for 5-7 years, perhaps longer...Patz and Hall has long been a model for how to run a high-quality négociant business, buying fruit from top vineyards and crafting it into wines that can compete with the finest from estate vineyards.."
New release - Patz & Hall's top-of-the line Pinot from the legendary Hyde Vineyard.
94 Points Robert Parker: "Showing fabulously well, the Pinot Noir Hyde Vineyard is a nearly 1,000-case cuvee with a deep ruby color, a big, sweet kiss of raspberries, black cherries and forest floor as well as a floral note. Its beautiful texture, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, stunning purity, length and richness make for a superb Pinot Noir to drink over the next 5-6 years."
