95 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "Bold and muscular, the Immortal Estate 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Slope comes from the Immortal Estate Vineyard, which sits on the red volcanic soils on the Sonoma side of the Mayacamas mountains. Including 2% Petit Verdot and pouring an opaque black, potent and layered aromas lift from the glass, with menthol, cassis, toasted cedar, and vanilla. Fleshy and very full-bodied, its velvety sweet tannins and plummy fruit coat the palate, with fresh acidity and a long, toasty finish. A seductive wine, it will take time to lose some of its baby fat and reveal its more savory complexity. Drink 2025-2040."
Hidden Ridge Vineyard is located in Sonoma County, Napa Valley. The property was purchased in 1990, developed throughout the following years, and achieved a small but devoted following. In 2016, new owners acquired the acclaimed Hidden Ridge property and its unique terroir. Two Estate Cabernet Sauvignons are produced from the vineyard – “Slope” and “Impassable Mountain” – and have consistently been rated 90+ by industry aficionados. In 2014, Wine Spectator rated the 2009 “55% Slope” #32 of the Top 100 Wines of the year. The 2012 “Impassable Mountain Reserve” achieved a 97-point score from Robert Parker, and in March 2016, the 2013 Impassable Mountain received a perfect score of 100 points by Robert Parker.
