Herman Story 2022 Nuts & Bolts Syrah
96 points
A blockbuster new red from new discovery Herman Story winery - get on the bandwagon now while it's still available.
96 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "Darker berries, peppery herbs, sappy underbrush, game, and bouquet garni notes all soar from the Herman Story 2022 Nuts & Bolts, another ripe, powerful wine in the lineup. All Syrah from a mix of York, Slide Hill, Chelle Mountain, and White Hawk vineyards, it has a round, layered, elegant mouthfeel, polished yet building tannins, and a great finish. It's a classic Russell From Syrah that holds onto a beautiful, almost cool climate-inspired style."
95 Points Wine Enthusiast: "Incredibly dark in color and intense in aromas, this bottling is lush with concentrated blackberry, black currant, charred wood and a hint of coffee on the nose. On the palate, firm yet polished tannins uphold dense flavors of black cherry, roasted black currant and plum, cola, espresso bean and cracked pepper. Acid washes into the finish."
Robert Parker: "One of my favorite estates in the Central Coast is Russell From's Herman Story, who makes unapologetic rich, layered, flavor loaded wines that are a joy to drink."
