Beautiful New Pinot Noir release from Foxen - limited.
95 Points Wine Enthusiast: "Fresh and tart wild cherry and crushed cranberry meet with intriguing touches of fennel fron, mustard, rose hips, potpourri and tons of garrigue on the now of this bottling. The palate packs vibrancy into each sip, redolent with flavors of tomato leaf, cherry tomato, kalamata olive, underripe raspberry, anise, bay leaf and even earthy mugwort. It conveys and extreme sense of place."
93 Points Robert Parker: "Spicy and complex, with lots of sour cherries, dried underbrush and crushed flowers, the 2014 Pinot Noir John Sebastiano Vineyard (aged 17 months in 50% new French oak) is medium-bodied, silky and polished on the palate. It has fine tannin and a clean, classy, balanced style that's already hard to resist. Nevertheless, it will evolve for 5-7 years...
...This Santa Maria estate is run with incredible talent and passion by Bill Wathen and Dick Doré, who have been making wine together since 1985. They completed construction on a new winery in 2009 and they fashion a number of whites, numerous single vineyard and appellation Pinot Noirs, two Syrahs, and three Bordeaux blends. The wines are always impeccably made and shine more for their elegance and nuance than sheer power and richness.

New Release from A.P. Vin, one of Pinot's hottest up-and-coming labels and sourced from the famous Kanzler Vineyard in Sonoma. Tiny production.
95 Points Brix26: "The 2015 vintage has a ton of structure with hints of blackberries and dried cherries on the nose. It's wonderfully savory on the palate specifically with fresh earth and some brown spice notes (nutmeg and cola). Another terrific wine from winemaker Andrew Vingiello."
A.P. Vin is a small-production winery based in San Francisco. Winemaker/owner Andrew P. Vingiello started the company in 2003 and made it his full-time gig in 2005. The wines he makes are single-vineyard Pinot Noir from some of the best sites in California like this limited Kanzler Vineyard release from the Sonoma Coast. New Pinot Release from A.P. Vin, one of Pinot's hottest up and coming labels and sourced from the famous Gary's Vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands.
93 Points Robert Parker: "The Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard offers lots of savory, medium-bodied, complex notes of sassafras, scrub brush, black cherry, peppery spice and earth in a perfectly balanced, layered package. Its integrated acidity and fine tannin all suggest it will drink nicely through 2022...Winemaker Andrew Vingiello continues to make a bevy of brilliant wines. They’re always packed with fruit, yet never lose typicity or soul. All of these Pinot Noirs were mostly destemmed (a few have 25% whole cluster) and aged in French oak barrels, with an average of 50% new."
93 Points Wine Spectator: "A rich, unctuous style, with layers of mocha, blackberry, wild berry, currant and boysenberry, yet for all the richness, this glides on the palate, ending with a long, lingering aftertaste that keeps repeating the dark berry themes. Drink now through 2022. 275 cases made."
