The marriage of these diverse vineyard sites has allowed us to craft our finest expression of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine exemplifies our nearly four decades of mastery in growing and making Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
The 2017 Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, blend is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc. The 2017 vintage was harvested between September 20 and October 27 and was aged in French oak (60% new, 40% once-used) for 16 months.

92 Points Robert Parker: "The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Bottled is blended 95.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3.25% Petit Verdot and .25% Malbec. Deep purple-black colored, it has pronounced black currant pastilles, black cherry compote and red currant preserves notes with touches of dried herbs, unsmoked cigars and fallen leaves plus a waft of cedar. Medium to full-bodied, it has a firm texture of grainy tannins and oodles of freshness supporting the muscular black fruit, finishing with an herbal lift."
The Martin Stelling Vineyard, located behind the winery in Oakville, is the cornerstone of Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon. Planted on some of the most beautiful, gravelly loam soil in the Napa Valley, the vineyard uniformly produces wines with supple tannins, bright, forward fruit, and beautiful tannin structure.

A great newcomer to the Napa Cabernet scene! Silver Oak has a vineyard next door and their neighbor to the west sells their fruit to Caymus: Grassi comes from prime Cab country. Mary Maher, vineyard manager for Harlan, and winemaker Robbie Meyer were instrumental in developing the vineyard and crafting a fantastic small-production Cabernet.
94 Points Robert Parker: "One-hundred percent Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Riserva is deep garnet-purple colored with a gorgeous nose of perfumed black fruit—roses, violets and dark chocolate over cassis, black cherries and crushed blackberries—with hints of cedar box, lavender, wood smoke, pencil lead and tapenade. The palate is full-bodied, rich and densely packed with smoky black fruits and a firm frame of grainy tannins with great freshness, finishing long and layered."

Bright floral notes, red cherry, raspberry, mint and cinnamon are all beautifully delineated in this very pretty, gracious wine. The tannins need a bit of time to soften. This is a gorgeous wine from Grassi."
