The 2021 Ballentine Estate Zinfandel is a premium Napa Valley Zinfandel grown in the historic Pocai Vineyard on the valley's warm eastern benchlands. Sourced primarily from 40+ year-old vines planted in Bale Gravelly Loam soils, this estate-grown wine delivers concentrated blackberry, black cherry, raspberry preserves, baking spice, and floral aromas with a rich, structured palate and a long finish. The blend includes 5% Petite Sirah and 2% Malbec for added depth and color.
95 Points The Wine Independent: "The Ballentine 2021 Zinfandel Estate Grown, with 5% Petite Sirah and 2% Malbec in the blend, is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. It rolls out with fragrant notes of baked black cherries, fruitcake, and raspberry preserves plus hints of Chinese five spice, rose oil, and black tea. The full-bodied palate delivers great tension and intensity, with lighly chewy tannins and a long perfumed finish." (Lisa Perrotti-Brown -April 2024).
