Patria is one of the newest cult wines we've discovered in Napa Valley. Between the pedigree behind the wine and the quality of what is in the bottle, this production is poised to be on the radar of collectors and connoisseurs alike. Anthony (Tony) Biagi, former Winemaker of Plumpjack wines and still consultant at Cade Winery, is the mastermind behind Patria. Bringing years of experience to the table, Tony crafts these rich, dense and chewy style of Cabernet Sauvignon that we've come to love over the years and the 2014 is another excellent vintage.
From the historic Oakville Ranch Vineyard, the Patria Cabernet Franc has gorgeous color - a deep, dark purple with an electric pink rim. Rose petals, crushed violets, blueberry, and blackberry aromatics leap from the glass, followed by hints of red cedar and fresh tobacco. The palate is velvety and lush with fresh red raspberries, red plum, and blackberry compote, highlighted by cinnamon, clove, and a touch-of-caramel finish. This wine is singing right now with great balance and texture.
