96 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "From a great site in Rutherford as well as Switchback Ridge, Montagna, and Oakville Ranch, the Familiar Air 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon has a smoking good nose of cassis, liquid violets, and darker chocolate, with some Saint-Julien-like minerality and floral nuances. It's medium to full-bodied, has a concentrated, layered mouthfeel, fine tannins, and a great finish. It's beautiful today, yet I see no reason it shouldn't keep for 15-20 years. Drink 2025-2045."
96 Points Lisa Perrotti-Brown: "Deep garnet-purple colored, it shimmies out with energetic notes of red currants and fresh blackberries, leading to the core of cassis, wild sage, and pencil lead. The full-bodied palate is generous and impactful with firm, fine-grained tannins and bags of freshness, finishing with a real skip in its step. Tasted as a barrel sample.
Familiar Air is a Napa Valley wine label founded by winemaker Tony Biagi and distributor Kimberly Jones, who source their grapes from St. Helena AVA vineyards to produce high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines are known for being lush, rich, and complex, with notes of dark fruit, mocha, and spices, and are considered a great value for Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. While not a traditional winery with a physical location, Familiar Air produces wine through collaborations with vineyards and other winemakers.
