98 Points James Suckling: “A pretty, juicy pinot with crushed berries, plums and sliced blood orange. Full-bodied with round, creamy tannins and a beautiful, long finish. Lots of purity. Barrel sample.”

95 Points Vinous: “The Raen 2021 Pinot Noir Sea Field is intensely floral and full of flavor, with cool-climate savoriness driving a core of bright, red-toned fruit. Deceptively medium in body, the 2021 has a ton of complexity waiting to emerge. Time in the glass brings out compelling inner perfume and quite a bit of nuance. But, it is tightly wound and quite reticent at this stage."

95 Points Wine Spectator: "Shows mulled blood orange, strawberry and raspberry fruit, which meld nicely with a vibrant savory edge, along with hints of red tea and incense. The finish is underscored by crushed sea shell hints, which add nice lingering tension. Precise. Drink now through 2032."

When Robert Mondavi Winery was sold in 2004, the brothers joined their father Tim, Aunt-Marcia and grandfather Robert as they founded Continuum in 2005. In 2013 Carlo and Dante founded RAEN winery with the goal to produce world class Pinot Noir on the western hills of the Sonoma Coast. RAEN currently focuses on making three Pinot Noirs, from three unique sites on the Sonoma Coast.

Tasting Notes:  Deep, ruby red in color working its way to an ever slight, ruby hazed rim. Aromas of ripe red cherry, wild strawberry, coastal moss, and pomegranate lead to underlying notes of Moroccan mint and wet stone. On the palate the wine opens with bright acidity backed by youthful, fine grained-tannins. Flavors of wild dark berries, and crushed stone lead to a wonderfully long finish. A tiny 154 cases were produced.
