It's full-bodied, perhaps a bit more powerful, richer and more tannic, with hints of mocha and cigar box as well. Long and sultry on the finish, it picks up extra complexity in the form of salted licorice, black olives and earth."

Readers should take that to heart. By and large the Turnbull 2014s tended to perform in a slightly more backward style than many wines of the vintage, so some minimal bottle aging is suggested.
