ROAR makes some of the best and hardest to get new Pinot Noirs in California. The Sierra Mar Vineyard is a rare Pinot sold out at the winery.
previous vintage 92 Points Robert Parker: "A brilliant Pinot Noir that has a core of sweet fruit that’s balanced out by savory, mineral-like qualities, the 2011 Sierra Mar Vineyard has a medium-bodied mouthfeel, plenty of texture and juicy acidity. Slightly plump and upfront, this friendly beauty is hard to resist, and I see no reason to either. Enjoy bottles over the coming 5-6 years. Drink now-2019."
...A top producer in the Santa Lucia Highlands, Roar is run by Gary and Rosella Franscioni, with the wines now made by Scott Shapley as of the 2013 vintage (they were previously made by Ed Kurtzman). This is fantastic lineup of Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs.
Roar is owned by Gary & Rosella Franscioni, who planted and own the famed Rosella's Vineyard, Gary's Vineyard and Pisoni Vineyard in California's Central Coast.

previous vintage 93 Points Wine Spectator: "Big, smooth, rich and generous, displaying lively plum, wild berry and blackberry flavors that touch on jammy in a pleasing way. This picks up spice and nutmeg scents, showing a firmness that gives the flavors traction. Drink now through 2020."

New Release from A.P. Vin, one of Pinot's hottest up-and-coming labels and sourced from the famous Kanzler Vineyard in Sonoma. Tiny production.
95 Points Brix26: "The 2015 vintage has a ton of structure with hints of blackberries and dried cherries on the nose. It's wonderfully savory on the palate specifically with fresh earth and some brown spice notes (nutmeg and cola). Another terrific wine from winemaker Andrew Vingiello."
A.P. Vin is a small-production winery based in San Francisco. Winemaker/owner Andrew P. Vingiello started the company in 2003 and made it his full-time gig in 2005. The wines he makes are single-vineyard Pinot Noir from some of the best sites in California like this limited Kanzler Vineyard release from the Sonoma Coast. The fruit from Kanzler Vineyard is some of the most coveted in all of California and only select few top Pinot Noir producers like Kosta Browne get some.
New Pinot Release from A.P. Vin, one of Pinot's hottest up and coming labels and sourced from the famous Gary's Vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands.
94 Point Robert Parker: "From a vintage that had big yields and heavy cluster weights (harvest started mid-September and finished late in October), the 2014 Pinot Noir Rosella's Vineyard (saw 11 months in 50% new oak) is a stunner that's up with the creme de la creme of the vintage. Forest floor, strawberries, plums, earth and underbrush all emerge from this medium to full-bodied, elegant and silky Pinot Noir that has fine tannin, no hard edges and impeccable balance. It's another terrific wine from winemaker Andrew Vingiello....Winemaker Andrew Vingiello continues to make a bevy of brilliant wines. They’re always packed with fruit, yet never lose typicity or soul. All of these Pinot Noirs were mostly destemmed (a few have 25% whole cluster) and aged in French oak barrels, with an average of 50% new."
