Full-bodied and full-on sultry with tons of perfumed fruit and a plush texture, it finishes with lovely harmony and plenty of depth. 191 cases produced."
...One of the great families of Northern California, and of course, one of the highest quality producers, the Martinellis – and rather remarkably so – only estate-bottle 15% of their production from over 300 acres of beautifully situated vineyards in the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast. No doubt Helen Turley, who worked at Martinelli and mentored its winemaking team, left a profound influence on the quality of the Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, Syrahs and Zinfandels, a fact that can’t be overstated. The Chardonnays all go through full malolactic fermentation and tend to see about 50% new oak. The Pinot Noirs are always 100% destemmed and largely spend no longer than ten months in about 60% new French oak. More specifics are included with the following tasting notes."

The Slam Dunk 2020 Red Blend has a dense purple hue opens with ripe blackberry, preserved plums with notes of shaved cocoaand black pepper. The mouthfeel is packed with sweet black cherry, cinnamon, and clove along with fresh sage and thyme. Long and persistent on the finish, the wine shows ripe tannins and elegant opulence with a focused core of soft vanilla oak.

The Klinker Brick Old Vines Zinfandel is produced from an amalgam of 14 different vineyard blocks, ranging in age from 35 to 110 years old. This vintage saw lower yields, producing a wine that is both complex and bold. Showing typical Klinker Brick cherry/berry/plum fruit components with aromatic spices on the nose, this wine is incredibly well balanced with a silky smooth texture and a long lingering finish. One of their best!
