Keenan is one of our favorite wineries on Napa Valley's Spring Mountain. Neighboring Pride, Paloma, Barnett and Cain. One of the highest rated Cabs of the vintage. Limited.
96 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous):Â "The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is dense, powerful and incredibly inviting. The 2016 brings together dense, unctuous fruit and terrific freshness. A classically built medium-bodied wine of the style that are seldom found in Napa Valley today. Hints of sage, lavender, espresso and menthol add aromatic intrigue, but it is the wine's balance and sense of proportion that I find most alluring today. This is a fabulous showing from Robert Keenan
94 Points Robert Parker: "Containing 7% Cabernet Franc, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Spring Mountain offers up cassis, cedar, toast and earth on the nose with bay leaves, mint and chocolate nuances. Medium-bodied and elegant, it has firm, chewy tannins and is vibrant in the mouth, finishing with a minty lift."
...Keenan has been on a real high-quality roll for a number of years, and they are among my favorite wines in Napa Valley, combining power and complexity. They’ve certainly found their groove, so to speak, in this last 10-15 years.  Michael Keenan has done a fabulous job of ratcheting up the quality of the wines from this Spring Mountain estate."

Keenan is a fantastic producer on Napa Valley's Spring Mountain. Neighboring Pride, Paloma, Barnett and Cain, a beautiful mountain Cabernet we highly recommend.
92 Points James Suckling: "If you like things oaky, then this will appeal with its slightly bourbon-like edge of freshly sawn wood and an array of herbs and brambly red to dark fruit. The palate offers ripe plums, laced in tight with assertive wood character and hints of toffee to close. The oak needs to settle in. Try from 2022."
91 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "Dark red cherry, savory herb, earthiness, tobacco and cedar add to the wine's somewhat rustic personality, and yet there is more than enough depth in the fruit to balance things out. "
90 Points Robert Parker: "The Keenan 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is deep garnet-purple colored with a plums, cassis and baked berries nose with violets, cedar, cigars and earth. The medium to full-bodied mouth is firm and grainy with decent concentration and an earthy finish...
...This winery on Spring Mountain has been doing an impeccable job of winemaking for a number of years now, and they continue to show a Midas touch across all varieties they work with."

Great new Chardonnay release from Keenan! Â One of our favorite wineries on Napa's Spring Mountain.
91 Jeb Dunnuck: "Starting with the 2018 Chardonnay, which is all from Spring Mountain, it offers a pretty bouquet of bright citrus, tangerine, and orange blossom to go with a medium-bodied, racy style on the palate. With plenty of acidity, good ripeness of fruit, and a great finish, it's going to keep for a solid 7-8 years."
Keenan's 2018 Chardonnay was hand harvested, de-stemmed, then gently pressed. The juice was fermented and aged in French and American oak barrels. The wine was left on the lees and the barrels were stirred weekly. No secondary, or malolactic fermentation was carried out, leading to the crisp, citrus character of this wine. The wine was bottled after approximately seven months of aging in the cellar. The finished wine shows citrus, ripe pear and green apple in the nose. Hints of lush white peach are noticed as the wine opens up. The sur-lie aging has added richness and complexity, and a touch of toasty oak returns on the finish. Like all of Keenan’s wines, this Chardonnay is a food worthy wine whose crisp acidity and medium body will accompany a wide variety of food fare.

A fantastic Merlot/Cab blend from Keenan's Spring Mountain vineyards. Rare release.
95 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2018 Red Blend Mernet Reserve, Keenan's Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold, dense wine. Soaring aromatics and silky tannins render it approachable even young. Inky red/purplish fruit, mocha and sweet spice build over time. There is a bit of new oak coming through today, but a few years in bottle should help that integrate.

96+ Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous):Â "The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is such a great example of Spring Mountain. Powerful and virile, the classically-built Reserve packs a serious punch. I would give it a few years to soften, but it is super-impressive, even in the early going. Crushed red berry fruit, iron, dried flowers, mint and spice lead into the long, sculpted finish."
