A fantastic new Chardonnay from Melville, one of our favorite Santa Barbara producers!
93 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "Melville's 2018 Chardonnay Estate is open-knit and inviting from the very first taste. Apricot, orange jam and passionfruit give the 2018 a decidedly exotic feel. This mid-weight Chardonnay has a ton to offer. Even with all of its intensity, the 2018 remains gracious and understated. It is such a classy and polished wine."
93 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "There are two Chardonnays from Chad Melville. Looking first at the Melville 2018 Chardonnay Estate Sta. Rita Hills, its medium gold color is followed by a spicy, salty bouquet of crushed citrus, iodine, honeyed minerality, and white flowers. With good richness, bright acidity, and a medium-bodied mouthfeel, it's going to keep nicely for 10-12 years."

A Fantastic New Syrah from Melville. Limited
93 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2018 Syrah (Sta. Rita Hills) is very pretty and delicate. Whole clusters add striking aromatic top notes redolent of dried flowers, mint and herbs. In the glass, the Estate is gracious and light on its feet. Silky tannins add to a feeling of understatement and finesse. The 2018 is such a terrific example of how compelling Syrah can in the Sta. Rita Hills."
92 Points Robert Parker:Â "The 2018 Syrah Estate has a medium ruby color and bright, lifted scents of cracked pepper and mint with touches of olive and tar and a core of fresh blue and black fruits. The palate is concentrated, layered, fresh and lifted with a ripe, grainy frame and long finish."
...Hold onto your hats, as these latest releases from Chad Melville and winemaker Greg Brewer are off-the-charts good! While both of the Chardonnays are beautiful, and play in the clean, crisp and medium-bodied spectrum, it’s the Pinot Noirs and Syrahs that are incredible across the board."

A Fantastic New Syrah from Melville. Limited
96+ Points Jeb Dunnuck: "Deeper purple-hued, the 2019 Syrah Donna's offers a more exotic, feral, wild side to Syrah and reminds me of an old school Cornas, yet with ripe California fruit. Ground pepper, black olives, tapenade, and bloody red and blue fruits all define the bouquet, and it's full-bodied, with moderate acidity, ripe polished tannins, and a monster of a finish. This cuvée is made in a more finesse-driven, elegant style today, and it shines for its balance, purity, and complexity. It's a singular, gorgeous Syrah that could come from nowhere else."

One of our favorite Pinot Noir producers from Santa Barbara. Greg Brewer's touch with Pinot should be discovered by all Pinotphiles!
93 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "The base appellation release from this estate always seems to deliver the goods and the 2019 Pinot Noir Estate Sta. Rita Hills is no exception. Bright Rainier Cherry, sea salt, white flowers, and spice all define the bouquet, and it hits the palate with medium-bodied richness, a silky, elegant texture, soft tannins, and just a wonderful finish. I’d happily drink a bottle."
91 Points Vinous: "The 2019 Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills) is a very pretty wine. A healthy dollop of whole clusters (40%) lends striking aromatic depth in giving this mid-weight Pinot tons of complexity. Crushed flowers, mint, spice, pine and cedar all lift out of the glass. Silky and gracious to the core, this appellation Pinot is so expressive and inviting,"
