Rare release from California's newcult spraklign wine producer. Limited.
The Cruse Wine Co. Tradition Rosé Sparkling Wine is 68% Pinot Noir approx 7% still Pinot Noir, 32% Chardonnay. The grapes were pressed using a traditional Champagne cycle and press cut. The vineyards were fermented separately in barrel with native yeasts, natural malolactic fermentation, and no sulfur added. In the late spring, the wines were blended and tirage bottled. After nearly two years on lees, the bottles were riddled and disgorged with 6 g/L dosage. Pressure: 5.5 bar. Sourced from several sites including Rorick Heritage Vineyard high in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, Alder Springs from Mendocino County, Keefer Ranch in Sonoma, and a small amount of wine for Linda Vista in Napa
96 Points Robert Parker: "The 2018 Tradition Sparkling Rosé is a new cuvée from Cruse Wine Co. Made using the traditional method, it is composed of 68% Pinot Noir and 32% Chardonnay from several vineyards including Rorick Heritage in Sierra Foothills, Alder Springs in Mendocino, Keefer Ranch in Sonoma and Linda Vista in Napa. "Vins clairs don't often taste great," notes winemaker Michael Cruse. "But the 2018 rosé tasted incredible from barrel." Cruse Wine Co.'s sparklings are technically non-vintage—you won't find the vintage listed on the label—but this first iteration is composed entirely of fruit from the 2018 vintage. Grapes were fermented in barrel and disgorged with six grams per liter dosage after two years on the lees. About 7% red wine was added to the blend to produce its medium cherry-pink color, and it has 5.5 bars of pressure. The nose offers a layered, singular perfume of warm peaches and strawberries, biscuit, spring butter and toast, expertly balancing ripe California fruit and savory autolytic character. Medium-bodied and dry, the palate is intense and savory, with biscuit-laced flavors and bright bursts of pure raspberry character. It has a fine, creamy texture, a long finish and loads of personality! 565 cases were made."
Michael Cruse might no longer be the new kid on the block but his wines are still the freshest around. The wines of Cruse Wine Co. are crushable homages to modern Californian cuisine and culture. Cruse helped revolutionize the image of what California wines can be and was one of the first proponents of a more balanced and delicate style. In 2016, he was recognized by the SF Chronicle and named Winemaker of the Year. Sadly, since the secret is out, his wines don’t stay on the shelves too long. Now is your chance to get your hands on some of the best locally made wines around that push the envelope! What makes Cruse wines a must for your wine rack is that these are wines made for the type of local and ethnically diverse food we’re actually eating, and for the outdoor park-chilling life we will one day get back to. These aren’t stodgy extracted Cabs and Chards of yesteryear that demand big hunks of meat or floods of butter and heavy cream. These are light, energetic wines that know how to move with the spice of a Baja fish taco and are down to take a bit of chill for a refreshing glass al fresco.

This is 100% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs, rich, with a surprisingly delicate quality, round yet mineral. It features a rose-like nose with citrus and ginger, and in the mouth hints of biscuit and breadcrust. Fantastic with rich, creamy seafood dishes especially.
91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: (made from fruit grown in the grand crus Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Cramant and Avize): "Light, green-tinged gold. High-pitched lemon, lime, talc and quinine aromas show very good clarity. Very dry, but there's impressive heft and body to its juicy orchard fruit and bitter citrus zest flavors. The dry finish displays very good energy and mineral-driven persistence."

It’s very layered and bright with light pineapple, peach, praline, cooked-apple and stone aromas and flavors. It’s very subtle and focused at the end. Integrated with richness and high acidity. Good depth. Reminds me of the 1995. Very clean. Solid. Lovely to drink already, but will age nicely."

New release from the Caymus family! Jenny Wagner, daughter of Caymus' Chuck Wagner, has introduced this outstanding "methode traditionelle" Sparkling wine from her new label Emmolo.
Lustrous light gold, this wine opens with aromas of daffodils, the bisoctti cookie jar in my grandparetns' kitchen, and a lsigh hint of new leather. Soft bubbles fill the mouth upon entry, with an immediate freshness that yields to creaminess from extended aging in tirage. The palate features the mineral character of wt stone and mouthwatering bright citrus flavors. Subtle and alluring on the finish - like catching the scent of your favorite bakery on a breezy, sunny afternoon.

Second release from the exclusive new rosé Champagne from Chateau Miraval owned by Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie and the legendary Pierre Peters in Champagne.
94 Points Wine Spectator: "A pale rosé Champagne lightly copper in color with an appealing nose of ripe fruit and spice. Lightly mouthwatering and satin-like on the palate a harmonious version that layers ripe notes of white cherry blood orange sorbet and nectarine with savory accents of salted almond oyster shell and saffron. Not a powerhouse but finely-detailed throughout and long on the well-cut finish. Drink now through 2028."
Champagne Fleur de Miraval is the first Champagne house dedicated exclusively to the production of Rosé. This project, five years in the making, is a collaboration between three families: iconic winemaking families Champagne Pierre Péters, in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Famille Perrin of Château de Beaucastel in the Rhône valley and Château de Miraval owners, the Jolie-Pitt family. Fleur de Miraval is singular in both its ethos — exclusively Rosé — and production. The house, located in Le Mesnil-Sur-Oger, focuses solely on the Côte des Blancs. This first edition is 75% Grand Cru Chardonnay, from Cramant, Avize, Oger and Le Mesnil, blended with 25% Pinot Noir from Vertus 1er Cru, made in the saignée method. The Chardonnay comes from a perpetual cuvée started in 2007, a system that winemaker Rodolphe Péters has perfected at his family Domaine.

The best selling rosé Champagne in the world, Laurent-Perrier is one of the few rosés still made by the saignée method. To emphasize this traditional technique, the Champagne is bottled in an embossed bottle that is a reproduction of those used in the late 17th century.
The salmon-pink Lauent-Perrier Brut Rosé Champagne is truly remarkable for its highly expressive bouquet, stemming from very careful preservation of fresh fruit aromas during the winemaking. Made with 100% pinot noir using skin contact, also known as the saignée method, Laurent-Perrier's know-how and attention to quality produces a finely crafted rosé with both depth and freshness. It has become the benchmark for rosé Champagne around the world.
91 points Wine Spectator: "The Laurent-Perrier Brut Rosé is a big, beefy rosé. Very Pinot Noir-like, with leaf, cherry and earth notes matched to a firm, muscular structure. Has warmth and personality, with a lingering finish. Begs for herb-roasted chicken."

A "Best Buy" from Louis Roederer, one of France's top Champagne houses.
94 Points James Suckling: "Aromas of cooked apple, bread dough and lemon tart follow through to a full body with round, delicious fruit and a rich, flavorful finish. Yet, it remains tight and fine with lovely, compressed bubbles. New energy and freshness. Medium-to full-bodied with layers of fruit and vivid intensity."
93 points Robert Parker: "This debut release is very impressive indeed, wafting from the glass with notes of pear, peach, ripe citrus fruit, toasted almonds, fresh pastry and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and textural, it's concentrated and layered, with lively acids, an enlivening pinpoint mousse and a long, sapid finish. Brut Premier was already a very persuasive wine, but the new Brut Collection nevertheless represents a step up."
92 Points Vinous: "Whereas Brut Premier was typically a focused, nervy wine that, while consistently excellent, also was not always in line with the Roederer house style, the 242 tastes more like a Roederer Champagne in terms of its complexity. Incidentally, there is no Vintage, Cristal or Cristal Rosé in 2017, so all the best lots went into this bottling. Dosage is 8 grams per liter, so lower than the 9 or so that was typical for recent Brut Premier and much lower than the 12-13 that was once customary. The 242 was also bottled with a bit less sugar than the norm, which results in lower atmospheres of pressure in the bottle and silkier texture."

The legendary Cristal Champagne now available for a limited time. Treat yourself to one of the world's highest-rated and best Champagnes made.
98 Points Wine Spectator: "This vivid Champagne shows up-front and linear definition, thanks to rapierlike acidity, with finely meshed flavors of ripe black cherry and mandarin orange fruit, raw almond, anise and cardamom spice as well as a touch of honeycomb, which all unfurl and expand on the fine, creamy palate. Sleek acidity continues through to the finish, with additional racy character provided by a streak of minerally saline and chalk, which gains momentum through the midpalate and rings out on the well-cut, lasting finish."
98 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2014 Cristal is another in a long line of gorgeous wines from Roederer and long-time Chef de Caves Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon. A dazzling, vibrant Champagne, the 2014 impresses with a stunning combination of fruit density and linear energy that brings to mind a hypothetical blend of 2012 and 2008. At times, the bubbles feel totally wrapped up in waves of creamy, resonant fruit to the point the mousse is barely perceptible, especially with aeration. The flavors are bright and finely sculpted, leaning very much into the citrus, floral and mineral end of the spectrum."
The 2014 Louis Roederer "Cristal" Brut Champagne is composed of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from estate vineyards. Only the best, mid slope, old vine sites are selected for this estate within an estate, and all the farming is done organically. One third comes from sites on the Mountain of Reims, another from the Marne Valley and the last thrird from the Cote des Blancs. The 2014 is 32% fermented in wood and dosed at just 7 grams per liter.

Levi Dalton at Convivio (NYC) compared this wine to the pianist who hits the right keys at the right moment. He's referring to the precision of the wine, which is astonishing. There is no singular flavor, but rather a resonant chord, a series of oppositions that create the invisible intensity of an electric current, the power of the charge balanced by the elegance of the flavor and the structure of the wine. You could describe it as light and brisk, or bold and intense; either way, you'll still be tasting it ten minutes later.

Nino Franco's non-vintage sparkling Rustico Prosecco is unquestionably the world's finest value in a high quality, Champagne look-alike. The non-vintage, light-bodied Prosecco di Valdobiaddene Rustico offers gorgeously elegant, fresh, lively fruit, notes of bread dough and citrus, and persistent effervescence.
94 Points Wine Enthusiast "Editors' Choice": "Aromas of white spring flower, Bartlett pear and citrus waft out of the glass. The racy, refreshing palate is full of energy, offering crisp yellow-apple, lemon drop and orange zest flavors balanced by vibrant acidity. A perlage of small, refined and continuous bubbles provides the silky backdrop."
92 Points James Suckling: "A delicious and fresh Prosecco that is dry and clean with subtle lemon and fennel notes and some spicy pears. Medium body. Fine bubbles and a fruity finish."
Antonio Franco founded the “Cantine Franco” winery in Valdobbiadene in 1919. It is one of the oldest winery’s in Valdobbiadene, located in the center of town, close to the countryside and the vineyards.

A Brix26 exclusive, Pierre Morlet's Grand Reserve Rosé is a Premier Cru Champagne at a fraction of the price of its peers. Mostly distributed in France, very little has made it to the U.S. until now.
Obtained by the “Saignée” technique, the Morlet Rosé Grande Réserve Champagne is exclusively comprised of Pinot Noir. Its intense yet delicate bouquet is dominantly fruity (raspberry, wild strawberries, blackberries) intermixed with notes of limestone and hazelnut. Full-bodied and elegant, the Pierre Morlet Rosé Grande Réserve displays flavors of fresh raspberries and pomegranate and a long finish with mineral notes and a hint of Kirsch. This Rosé Champagne will age gracefully for a decade.
The Morlet family has been cultivating vineyards in Avenay-Val-d'Or since the early 1800's and, after four generations, Champagne Pierre Morlet et Fils has become synonymous in France for authentic and handcrafted Champagnes. Interestingly, Pierre Morlet's grandson Nicolas was consulting winemaker at Napa Valley's cultish Peter Michael Winery before starting Morlet Family Wines.

Rare "Reserve" Brut Champagne from legendary producer Pol Roger.
92 Points Decanter: "One of the great signatures of the region, its calligraphy flowing with elegance, panache and balance, the last reflected in the equal proportions of the three great varieties of Champagne. A flamboyant straw gold lustre, and an immediately seductive nose, encyclopaedic in its indulgence. Nougat, praline, white pepper, spice and nectarine were first to the page for this taster, but there is much more behind that, the sugar discrete yet edifying, the long yeast ageing responsible for a happy and altogether luminous marriage of power and finesse. Consistently excellent.
92 Points James Suckling: "A layered and complex Champagne with pie crust, lemon peel, dried apple, pineapple tart and subtle spice notes. Sleek bubbles. Creamy and delicious. Drink now."
92 Points Robert Parker: "The current release of Pol Roger's NV Brut Réserve is quite dramatic, bursting with aromas of mandarin oil, honeycomb, elderflower, fresh bread and musky peach. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, it's generous and textural, with a rich core of fruit, lively acids and a pillowy mousse."
91 Points Wine Enthusiast: "The nonvintage Champagne from Pol Roger always has richness from the Pinot Noir in the blend. This bottling also has a touch of toast, showing some bottle aging. Put the two elements together and this satisfyingly ripe wine is ready to drink."

Roederer Estate's special tête de cuvée, L'Ermitage, is a sparkling wine made only in exceptional years from pre-selected, estate-grown grapes. Carrying on the tradition of Champagne Louis Roederer in France, Roederer Estate produces its sparkling wines in the traditional French methode and adds special oak-aged reserve wines to each blend. 97 Points Wine Enthusiast "Cellar Selection": "Luxurious and layered, this nicely mature wine has a broad range of complex aromas and flavors, from fig to mushroom to butter and baking spices that ride a supple texture and linger for a long finish. The very fine bead, plush texture and a creamy richness that verges on sweetness are practically irresistible. Best through 2025."

93 points Wine Spectator: "Seamless and silky, showing an almost effortless sense of complexity, with notes of lemon and pear paired with toasty brioche, fresh ginger and hazelnut details. *Top 100 Wines of 2018, Smart Buys* "
92 Points Decanter Magazine: " I would happily drink this wine every day if there weren’t so many other wines in the world to taste. Its wonderful play of creamy yet kinetic textures, the custardy, limey flavours, and its impeccable focus all add up to one of the best ways possible to greet 6pm after a long work day. Roederer Estate was, in my opinion, the first California sparkling producer to achieve complexity in its wines – especially in the estate’s prestige cuvée, L’Ermitage. The Brut (sold as Quartet in the UK) is generally 60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir. "
As fresh as crunchy apples in the fall, this wine opens to beautiful richness with air. There’s toasty character from the lees aging and brighter notes of red fruit, hinting at raspberries. A clean sparkler with impressive flavor depth, this serves equally well as a refreshing aperitif or a substantial dinner partner with seafood sausage.
