This Cade 2019 Sauvignon Blanc is filled with a gorgeous perfume of honeyed pears, guava, lemon grass, pink grapefruit and a waft of lemon lime soda. The palate is full of tropical flavors and delicate kiwi plus a greatintensity of lemon and lime citrus flavors. The semillon and viognier added to the blend invoke another level of complexity with flavors orange blossom and lemon curd. The barrel fermentations add a satiny texture, density and viscosity to the mid-palate of the wine. The concrete adds a touch of flint and mineral to the finish of the wine while the stainless steel fermentations preserve the natural Sauvignon Blanc aromatics, the racy backbone and the zesty crispness..

New release of Plumpjack's Reserve Chardonnay - limited.
The 2018 PlumpJack Reserve Chardonnay is a fantastic Napa Chardonnay. Aromas of white peaches, pear, orange blossom and warm apple pie filling are followed on the palate with flavors of Fuji apples, cinnamon stick and lemon curd. Very pleasant to drink now but the acidity gives it room to age.
Plumpjack opts not for the typical profile of Napa Chardonnay with this bottling, but for the "alternative," without malolactic fermentation, and the attendant buttery palate profile. The winery's vintage note explains: "The cooler Carneros site imparts this wine with fresh green apple and Bartlett pear on the nose, while the warmer St. Helena site lends to some tropical notes. The Carneros vineyard also gives this wine a beautiful, bright, lively acidity, which is balanced by the creamy, rich texture of the St. Helena fruit. A touch of oak gives the wine traces of vanilla, flint, and spice."

New release of Plumpjack's Oakville Estate Merlot - limited.
previous ratings:
95 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The Merlot is aromatically expressive and dense, a combination that is hugely appealing. Sage, mint, licorice, chocolate, lavender and black cherry jam run through this large-scaled, beautifully resonant Merlot. The interplay of elements here is really quite striking. There is quite a bit to look forward to. A dollop of Malbec rounds out the blend."
92 Points Robert Parker: "Containing a 4% splash of Malbec, the deep purple-black colored 2016 Merlot opens with notions of chocolate-covered cherries, plum preserves, spice cake and black pepper with hints of garrigue and wild sage. Full-bodied and boldly fruited in the mouth, the juicy black fruit is well framed by rounded tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing long and spicy."

New release of Plumpjack's Syrah- limited.
93 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "Made from 100% Syrah, the 2018 Syrah sports a deep garnet-purple color, sailing out of the glass with scents of dark chocolate, licorice, tar and candied violets over a core of stewed plums and baked blackberries plus a waft of fruitcake. The full-bodied palate delivers mouth-filling, crunchy black fruit flavors with loads of pepper and spice sparks and approachable, rounded tannins, finishing long with a compelling burst of freshness."
Grown in Napa, but inspired by the Northern Rhone style, this Syrah exhibits a smoky, gamey nose layered with white and black pepper, with complementary notes of blueberry and raspberry aromatics. Well structured, the palate is full of bright raspberries, black pepper and smoke. This wine has beautiful finesse, great concentration and vibrant acidity.

The Odette 2018 Reserve Chardonnay is the new release from the newest winery from PlumpJack. Extremely limited.
94 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "Rocking levels of caramelized apples, pineapple, brioche, honeysuckle, and toasty nuances emerge from the Ogette 2018 Chardonnay Reserve, and this medium to full-bodied beauty has a round, supple, plush mouthfeel and a great finish. I don't think it's going to make old bones, but it's one seriously delicious Chardonnay that should keep for 2-4 years."
This wine is crafted from the famed Hudson Ranch off of Henry Road in the Carneros AVA of Napa Valley. 2018 marks the first year with the addition of Block 6S paired with our select rows in Block 5BS. This unique new block planted in sandy soil, adds to the overall depth and complexity bringing verve and energy to the palate. The adjacent blocks are both planted to Odette Estate Winemaker Jeff Owens’ favorite clone, “old shot wente”, also referred to as “chicks and hens”.

Robert Parker: "...Tucked into the dramatic palisades of the Stags Leap District, sits Odette Estate on 45 voluptuous acres. As the newest addition to the beloved region, Odette looks to serve as a "breath of fresh air" to the historic District. Contemporary architecture and design, paired with a contemporary stance on environmental responsibility, Odette is symbolic of the future of Stags Leap. With its two sister properties, PlumpJack and CADE (located in Oakville and Howell Mountai respectively), Odette rounds out the trio of wineries committed to producing full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignons that are notable for the combination of power and elegance, while simultaneously showcasing the unique properties of the AVA."

CADE is Plumpjack's hot new winery on Howell Mountain. Limited.
96 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "Coming from estate fruit on Howell Mountain and made from 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% each of Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Merlot, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate offers a darker, more mineral-driven style compared to the Napa release. It has beautiful blackcurrant, cassis, forest floor, graphite, and tobacco leaf-like aromas and flavors. Deep, full-bodied, beautifully polished and elegant, it's another remarkable effort from this team. As Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon goes, it's a brilliant value!"
94 points Robert Parker: "The 2017 Cade Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, blended with 4% Malbec, 4% Petit Verdot and 4% Merlot, is deep garnet-purple colored and a little closed, slowly giving up warm cassis, blackberry tart and mulberries with touches of spice box, pencil shavings and Marmite toast. The full-bodied palate is firm, grainy and muscular with an earthy expression and just enough freshness, finishing on a lingering mineral note."

New release of Plumpjack's Oakville Estate Cabernet, the new 2017 is another classic Napa Cabernet - limited.
95 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate from this great estate checks in as 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, and 3% Petit Verdot. Its deep, saturated purple color is followed by a beautiful bouquet of blueberries, red plums, toasted spices, incense, and pen ink. This is a big, rich, pedal-to-the-metal beauty that stays remarkably well-balanced, has notable freshness and purity, and sweet tannins, which can be hard to find in the 2017 vintage. It’s an undeniable success."
...This famed estate on the Oakville crossroads, which was once the Villa Mt. Eden winery, where Nils Venge made a succession of profound wines in the 1970s, is now owned by the Getty family and called Plumpjack. These are always among my favorite wines in Napa Valley, as they are consistently well-crafted and represent the best of the Oakville corridor."

New release of Plumpjack's Oakville Estate Cabernet, the new 2018 is another classic Napa Cabernet - limited.
94+ Points Robert Paarker: "Composed of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec and 5% Petit Verdot, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate displays a deep garnet-purple color and fragrant notes of Black Forest cake, crème de cassis and wild blueberries with nuances of red roses, Chinese five spice, camphor and black olive plus a hint of charcoal. Full-bodied, the decadently rich fruit has impressive freshness lifting the palate along with firm, finely grained tannins, finishing long and fragrant."
94 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "Moving to the two Cabernet releases, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is based on 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec and the rest Petit Verdot, all from Oakville fruit. Promising yet restrained notes of ripe currants, tobacco leaf, sharpened #2 pencils, and chocolate give way to a full-bodied Cabernet that has sweet tannins, a layered, elegant texture, plenty of mid-palate depth, and a great finish. This rich, concentrated 2018 can be drunk today with ample pleasure or cellared for 15-20 years or more."

The Odette 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is the new release from the newest winery from PlumpJack. One of the highest-scoring Cabs from a stellar vintage.
96 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "Moving to the two reds, the Odette 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is brilliant all the way, offering a smorgasbord-like bouquet of blueberries, raspberries, spring flowers, cured meats, tobacco, and assorted other spicy, floral nuances. I always find a subtle red fruit and mineral character in top Stags Leap Cabernet, and this beauty has it in spades. Full-bodied on the palate, this pure, plush, sexy Napa Valley Cabernet has sweet tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish. Seemingly all about sweet fruit and texture, it's nevertheless going to evolve for 20-25 years."
