98 Points - limited
Fantastic new release from one of our favorite small Napa wineries and new winemaker Russell Bevan. From a legendary vineyard in Napa Valley.
98 Points Lisa Perroti-Brown : "The Elyse 2021 Morisoli Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple colored, it needs a little swirling before the nose bursts with expressive cassis, crushed blackberries, and black raspberries, followed by hints of lavender oil, garrigue, and tilled soil. The medium to full-bodied palate has wonderful finesse and energy, delivering ripe, grainy tannins and bold freshness, finishing on a lingering red berry note. Beautiful!"
The Morisoli Vineyard was established in 1902 by Swiss-Italian immigrants who settled on Niebaum Lane in the heart of Napa Valley. Now cared for by the fourth and fifth generations, this historic vineyard is an expression of over a century of hard work. In keeping with the Morisoli tradition, the vineyard continues to be farmed by hand and cultivated with vintage tractors that work the historic Rutherford Dust. Fifth Generation grape grower, Chris Morisoli added winemaking to the family vineyard after 12 active-duty years as a US Army Aeromedical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) Officer. After multiple deployments and MEDEVAC company commands he moved back to the family farm in 2018. Partnering with winemaker Joel Aiken of Beaulieu Vineyard fame, they now make classic wines that are true to the Site, Varietal and Vintage. "
