Great opportunity to try one of Napa Valley's limited Sauvignon Blancs from up-and-coming Cliff Lede Vineyards!
The Cliff Lede 2015 Sauvignon Blanc is loaded with aromas of Meyer lemon and candle wax atop layers of honeysuckle, ginger, and tangerine. Spring blossoms of wisteria, lupin, and California buckeye abound in the upper register of the seductive perfume. The full-bodied, coating mouthfeel expands out on the palate with a rich crème brûlée like texture as unctuous notes of bosc pear, orange marmalade, and lavender honey coalesce along the long, satisfying finish.
Proprietor Cliff Lede has put together a top-notch winemaking triumvirate that includes the extraordinary talents of Winemaker Michelle Edwards (formerly of Colgin), Vineyard Manager David Abreu (Harlan, Colgin, Bryant Family Vineyards, and Screaming Eagle), and internationally renowned Winemaking Consultant, Michel Rolland (Harlan, Bon Pasteur), operating in what was formerly the S. Anderson Winery.
A fantastic Cabernet from a rising star in the Stags Leap District! Get the new vintage while it's still available.
previous vintage 93 Points Robert Parker: "The Cabernet Sauvignon is a beauty, showing all the generosity of the 2012 vintage. Composed of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec and 3% Merlot, its dense purple color is followed by copious aromas of crème de cassis and spring flowers, supple tannins, and an opulent, fleshy style. A total intellectual and hedonistic turn-on, it is loaded with fruit and complexity, and reveals beautiful harmony among all the component parts. It is a terrific introduction to what Cliff Lede has achieved at such a high quality level. Consume it over the next 10-15 years."
