Rare Reserve Cabernet release from Turnbull.
96 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Leopoldina Vineyard is a real stunner. Silky, perfumed and exquisitely beautiful, the 2019 captivates all the sense with its striking beauty and magnificent balance. Blood orange, pomegranate, sweet red cherry, mint and wild flowers all soar out of the glass. The aromatics alone are so alluring. In 2019, the Leopoldina is a bit eccentric, but it is also incredibly captivating."
Situated atop the Oakville Bench, the Leopoldina Vinyard offers its westward-facing vines rocky, red volcanic soils and dramatic inclines - the ideal terroir for producing wines that flow with aromatic intrigue and unparalleled freshness.

A fantastic 2019 Napa Cabernet from Turnbull Cellars. Highly recommended.
90 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is deep, fleshy and a real delight. Inky dark fruit, cloves, licorice, lavender and chocolate are all kicked up in this juicy, flamboyant Napa Valley Cabernet. Pretty floral and savory notes perk up the finish. The Napa Valley Cabernet is gorgeous in 2019. Even better, it should be a tremendous value."
Made from all estate fruit from the Fortuna, Leopoldina, and Amoenus Vineyards, the Turnbull 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet is a great introduction to the Turnbull Winery. Winemaker Peter Heitz is garnering great acclaim for the work he's been doing at this small production facility, and it shows in this bottle. Of the vintage, Heitz says: “This wine captures the essence of where we farm in the Napa Valley. A wine of integrity, it’s a blend that we make to share at our own family table. A quintessential dirt to bottle wine that’s approachable at release and downright delicious."
Robert Parker: "...Readers should check out Turnbull Wine Cellars without delay."

Turnbull's flagship reserve Cabernet. Limited.
98+ Points Robert Parker: "Deep garnet-purple in color, the Turnbull 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Black Label is just a little reticent at this youthful stage. With a little swirling and coaxing, it begins to reveal a staggeringly beautiful nose of warm cassis, boysenberries, black raspberries and dark chocolate, with hints of freshly cut red roses, cinnamon stick, cedar chest and pencil lead plus a waft of fragrant earth. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is super intense, featuring tightly wound layers of black fruits, minerals and baking spices, supported by a rock-solid frame of pixelated tannins and electric freshness, finishing long and fantastically fragrant. What a stunner!"
98 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "There are 47 barrels of the flagship Turnbull 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Black Label, a selection from Oakville that shows the vintage style beautifully. A wonderful perfume of crème de cassis, chocolate, lead pencil, and violets gives way to a full-bodied, concentrated, expansive Cabernet with wonderful, velvety tannins, a dense, layered mid-palate, and a great finish. This broad, sexy, seamless 2018 can be drunk today with incredible pleasure, but it’s going to age like a great 1982 Bordeaux and keep for 30+ years."
97 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The Turnbull 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Black Label is fabulous. Inky, deep and powerful, the Black Label has so much to offer. Crème de cassis, graphite, new leather, cedar, mint, spice and lavender all run through this full-bodied, unctuous Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon. The Black Label pushes all the right buttons. It is a tremendous wine in every way. I loved it. The blend is 87% Leopoldina and 13% Fortuna.
Turnbull Cellars has been on a spectacular roll of quality over the last five to six years, if not longer. These are some of the most compelling wines being made in Northern California. Readers should take that to heart. By and large the Turnbull 2014s tended to perform in a slightly more backward style than many wines of the vintage, so some minimal bottle aging is suggested. However, they are all impressive wines that combine plenty of power with impressive elegance and equilibrium."

Rare Reserve Cabernet release from Turnbull.
98-100 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Leopoldina Vineyard is the most complete of the three 2018 Cabernets I tasted at Turnbull. Vivid, nuanced and crystalline in character, the 2018 is positively dazzling. There is a sense of pure energy here that I can only describe as utterly thrilling. All three 2018 Turnbull Cabernets in this article may get better, but the Leopoldina is stunning right now."
