97 Points Parker
One of Napa Valley's most collectible Cabernets - very limited.
97 Points Robert Parker: "Of the three Beckstoffer Vineyards, it’s pretty much a joyride as to which one readers may prefer. The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard (readers may remember the 2002 merited a 100-point score) has a beautiful blueberry and blackberry fruit note, a hint of incense, charcoal, an opaque purple color, full-bodied opulence and again that first-growth quality, richness, complexity and intensity. I’m not sure this is as compelling as the 2002, but it’s not far away. This is a magnificent, multi-dimensional, skyscraper-like Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the next 15-20 years."
...From one of Northern California’s most accomplished and respected wine consultants and producers, the 2012s and 2013s will create high expectations, and readers are unlikely to be disappointed by Paul Hobbs and his team."
A great new Chardonnay from one of California's most celebrated winemakers Paul Hobbs. Crossbarn is his new label and a fantastic value in high-end Chardonnay.
Robert Parker: "A stunning bargain is the Chardonnay CrossBarn, which was aged in 75% stainless steel, was put through 100% malolactic, and 15% was barrel fermented in order to provide a subtle hint of spice. Made in a steely, Chablis-like style, it offers up full-bodied tropical fruit notes intermixed with hints of honeysuckle and crushed rocks. Drink this 4,000-case beauty over the next several years."
Great new Pinot from Paul Hobbs
A great new Pinot Noir release from one of California's most celebrated winemakers Paul Hobbs. Crossbarn is his new label and a great alternative to Hobbs regular Pinot Noir.
93 Points Wine Enthusiast: " A beautiful Pinot Noir. Plays in the major leagues, with its refined texture and complex flavors of cherries, raspberries, licorice and sandalwood, with along, spicy finish. Feels so lush and fine, so delectable, so dramatic. This is one of the best Pinots available for drinking now."
A true second label, CrossBarn is culled from the same vineyards as Hobbs’ estate wine. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged twenty months in French and American oak barrels, the Crossbarn 2013 Cabernet is bottled both unfined and unfiltered. Awesome juice from a winemaking paragon.
previous vintage 91 Points Robert Parker: "The Cabernet Sauvignon Crossbarn is a gorgeous, fruit-driven wine bursting with dark red fruit, new leather, spices and licorice. Expressive aromatics are woven throughout in this beautifully delineated, entry-level Cabernet. The final blend includes 8% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Hobbs uses a touch of American oak for this Crossbarn label. The main vineyards are State Lane and Mast, both in Yountville"
