98 Points Parker
One of Napa Valley's most collectible Cabernets - very limited
98 Points Robert Parker: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard opens with provocative notions of crushed rocks, fertile loam and truffles with a core of warm cassis, blackberry pie and wild blueberries with touches of camphor and cloves. Medium to full-bodied and built like a brick house, it packs in the muscular fruit layers with compelling red fruit sparks, framed by firm, grainy tannins and finishing very long and very earthy. 402 cases produced.
...Paul Hobbs has emerged as one of the great success stories in Northern California. He’s an international consultant known for his outstanding work in Argentina. He is also now involved in a joint venture in the Finger Lakes region of New York, so hopefully we can anticipate some interesting Rieslings and possibly Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Blanc and even Gewurztraminer emerging from New York State.
I had an extensive tasting with Hobbs at his winery in late January, and the results were all impressive. The tastings reflect the fact that, for Chardonnay, both 2013 and 2014 are brilliant vintages, and for Pinot Noir, 2014 may possibly eclipse 2013. As for the Bordeaux varietals, there’s no question that 2013 is the game-changer, as I indicated in previous reports, but 2014 is delicious and another top-notch success." 400 cases produced.

A great new Chardonnay from one of California's most celebrated winemakers Paul Hobbs. Crossbarn is his new label and a fantastic value in high-end Chardonnay.
90 Points Robert Parker: "The 2018 Chardonnay from Crossbarn is made without oak and bottled early to preserve a clean, crisp style. It has an inviting nose of Red Delicious apples, warm hay, clover honey, saline and crushed shell with loads of warm stone fruits and a toasty note. Light to medium-bodied, it struts the line between fresh citrus and savory character, finishing lifted and refreshing, with a touch of texture."
Paul Hobbs's Crossbarn label has long been lauded for beautiful Sonoma County Pinots and Chardonnays, while also producing delicious Cabernets from Napa Valley and Sonoma County. As Antonio Galloni has said, "Paul Hobbs's Crossbarn label is a great place to look for values."

Great new Pinot from Paul Hobbs
A great new Pinot Noir release from one of California's most celebrated winemakers Paul Hobbs. Crossbarn is his new label and a great alternative to Hobbs regular Pinot Noir.
93 Points Wine Enthusiast: "A beautiful Pinot Noir. Plays in the major leagues, with its refined texture and complex flavors of cherries, raspberries, licorice and sandalwood, with along, spicy finish. Feels so lush and fine, so delectable, so dramatic. This is one of the best Pinots available for drinking now."

A true second label, CrossBarn is culled from the same vineyards as Hobbs’ estate wine. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged twenty months in French and American oak barrels, the Crossbarn Cabernet is bottled both unfined and unfiltered. Awesome juice from a winemaking paragon.
previous vintage 91 Points Robert Parker: "The Cabernet Sauvignon Crossbarn is a gorgeous, fruit-driven wine bursting with dark red fruit, new leather, spices and licorice. Expressive aromatics are woven throughout in this beautifully delineated, entry-level Cabernet. The final blend includes 8% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Hobbs uses a touch of American oak for this Crossbarn label. The main vineyards are State Lane and Mast, both in Yountville"
