95 Points Parker
The Odette 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is the new release from the newest winery from PlumpJack. One of the highest-scoring Cabs from a stellar vintage.
95+ Points Robert Parker: "The deep purple-black colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is blended of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 4% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot. It's beautifully perfumed with fragrant earth, lavender, oolong tea and chocolate-covered cherries with a core of warm cassis, crushed wild blueberries plus a compelling waft of roses. The full-bodied palate has a firm yet somehow wonderfully elegant frame thanks to super ripe, super fine-grained tannins and background freshness supporting the perfumed black fruit layers, leading to a very long finish."
95+ Points Jeb Dunnuck: "Starting with the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate, it's a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 4% Malbec, and 4% Petit Verdot that’s all from the Stags Leap District. It offers a monster bouquet of bloody blueberries, cassis, iron, violets, and crushed rocks. This flows to a powerful, rich, yet also pure and elegant Napa Cabernet that has tons of class. It has a focused, slightly tight profile that's going to benefit from short-term cellaring, and it should evolve beautifully for 2 decades or more."
...Tucked into the dramatic palisades of the Stags Leap District, sits Odette Estate on 45 voluptuous acres. As the newest addition to the beloved region, Odette looks to serve as a "breath of fresh air" to the historic District. Contemporary architecture and design, paired with a contemporary stance on environmental responsibility, Odette is symbolic of the future of Stags Leap. With its two sister properties, PlumpJack and CADE (located in Oakville and Howell Mountai respectively), Odette rounds out the trio of wineries committed to producing full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignons that are notable for the combination of power and elegance, while simultaneously showcasing the unique properties of the AVA."
CADE is Plumpjack's hot new winery on Howell Mountain. Limited.
This wine is filled with a gorgeous perfume of honeyed pears, guava, lemon grass, pink grapefruit and a waft of lemon lime soda. The palate is full of tropical flavors and delicate kiwi plus a greatintensity of lemon and lime citrus flavors. The semillon and viognier added to the blend invoke another level of complexity with flavors orange blossom and lemon curd. The barrel fermentations add a satiny texture, density and viscosity to the mid-palate of the wine. The concrete adds a touch of flint and mineral to the finish of the wine while the stainless steel fermentations preserve the natural Sauvignon Blanc aromatics, the racy backbone and the zesty crispness..

A new great-value Petite Sirah from the folks at PlumpJack's Odette Estate. Limited.
The Adaptation 2017 Petite Sirah Napa Valley is loaded with depth, superior concentration and a multitude of layers. It possesses aromatics of blackberry jam, plums, violets, and hints of brown sugar and nutmeg followed by raspberries, cloves and smoky oak on the palate.
New release of Plumpjack's Reserve Chardonnay - limited.
The 2017 PlumpJack Reserve Chardonnay is a fantastic Napa Chardonnay. Aromas of white peaches, pear, orange blossom and warm apple pie filling are followed on the palate with flavors of Fuji apples, cinnamon stick and lemon curd. Very pleasant to drink now but the acidity gives it room to age.
Plumpjack opts not for the typical profile of Napa Chardonnay with this bottling, but for the "alternative," without malolactic fermentation, and the attendant buttery palate profile. The winery's vintage note explains: "The cooler Carneros site imparts this wine with fresh green apple and Bartlett pear on the nose, while the warmer St. Helena site lends to some tropical notes. The Carneros vineyard also gives this wine a beautiful, bright, lively acidity, which is balanced by the creamy, rich texture of the St. Helena fruit. A touch of oak gives the wine traces of vanilla, flint, and spice."
