The elegantly balanced Nickel & Nickel 2015 Branding Iron Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon offers aromas of blackberry and raspberry fruits mixed with toasty cedar from the oak. These lush, ripe flavors carry through on the palate with hints of green olive and dried herb. The juiciness from the fruit continues through to a lingering finish on soft, coating tannins. This is a wine that can be easily be enjoyed upon release, but will also age beautifully with time in the bottle"
Nickel and Nickel Winery is all about single varietal, single vineyard wines and the Hayne Vineyard is a beautiful Cabernet from the folks at Far Niente. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
94+ Points Robert Parker: "Displaying a deep garnet-purple color, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Hayne Vineyard has loads of oak, blackberry preserves and warm plums with touches of cola, bergamot and Indian spices. Medium to full-bodied with a good amount of exotic spices and black fruit, it has firm, grainy tannins and great length. It just needs time for that oak to marry."
Hayne Vineyard is situated in St. Helena at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains and is well known for its single-vineyard wines from the site, especially from Turley Wine Cellars. The vines are small to moderate in size due to the gravelly, loam soils, and produce limited yields. The warm St. Helena temperatures are ideal for concentrated, jammy fruit. This vineyard tends to be picked at the beginning of harvest each year.
