95 Points - new release
Limerick Lane is back with a fantastic new Zinfandel. Limited.

previous vintage 94 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "Just a quintessential Russian River Valley Zinfandel, the Zinfandel Russian River Estate reveals a semi-translucent ruby/purple color to go with a wonderful perfume of blueberries, plums, flowery incense, cedarwood, and loads of spice. These all carry over to the palate, where the wine is medium-bodied and has a seamless layered texture, no hard edges, and just wonderful purity of fruit. You can’t go wrong with this wine, which remains an outstanding Zinfandel vintage after vintage. It's drinking beautifully today and should be drinking nicely at age 7 or 8, if not a decade.

91 Points Antonio Galloni: "The 2020 Zinfandel (Russian River Valley) is soft, supple and easygoing, all of which make it a fine choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Bright acids perk up a core of red/purplish berry fruit, blood orange, spice and new leather. This Russian River Zinfandel is a terrific introduction to the range. Best after 2022."

Robert Parker: ...The owners of the well-known Marietta Cellars, the Bilbro family, have taken this once-moribund producer, Limerick Lane, and resurrected it to impressive heights of quality. This estate always had some fabulous terroirs spread among their 30 acres of relatively old-vine mixed black blends, dominated by Zinfandel and, to a certain extent, Syrah that readers will adore. They started with a difficult challenge, the 2011 harvest, but brothers Jake and Scott Bilbro hit pay dirt and have continued to build on that success with fabulous wines."

“Limerick Lane’s estate vineyard is one of the great, historic old-vine vineyards of the Russian River Valley.  With it’s well-drained, rocky soils and expertly tended vines, it produces wines of exceptional harmony and balance.  I have admired this vineyard for decades and am thrilled to see it under the new stewardship of Jake Bilbro.” - Mike Officer, Carlisle Winery
