Great new second-label Cabernet from one of our favorite small Napa Valley producers!
This Cabernet Sauvignon fills the glass with ripe black fruit accented with notes of espresso and licorice. The wine’s aroma carries through to a deep and satisfying palate. With a nice balance of fresh fruit, depth, concentration, and tannins, this Cabernet is enjoyable now and will also benefit from cellaring. Only 1,000 cases produced.
One of the best California Sauvignon Blancs we've tasted! Extremely limited production - only 265 cases produced.
92 Points Wine Spectator: "Lovely melon and spice flavors are ripe and fresh, highlighted by fragrant floral, honey and green apple notes. This has refreshing acidity and wonderful focus, with a tropical edge on the finish. Drink now."
We're already big fans of this winery's Cabernet Sauvignon, and now we love their sauvignon Blanc sourced from a ranch on the eastern side of Napa Valley about three miles south of the winery. The fruit is whole-cluster pressed and fermented in 60% stainless steel and 40% French oak barrels. Jericho Canyon 2013 Sauvignon Blanc has fresh tropical fruit notes with hints of guava, green apple, lime, and crushed stone. Its rich, juicy palate finishes with just the perfect touch of vibrant acidity. Delicious!
A fantastic small-production Napa Valley Cabernet. One of our top picks from the great 2010 vintage.
previous vintage 93 Points Robert Parker: "The real deal. Super-ripe but with impressive underlying acidity and structure, the wine has notes of charcoal, roasted herbs, tapenade, black currant, licorice, and camphor. It is deep, full-bodied, rich, with good acidity and sweet tannin. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. This source for Cabernet Sauvignon was made famous by well-known wine consultant and winemaker David Ramey when he was sourcing fruit from this site. They now estate-bottle their own wines, and this is a cuvee of around 400 cases made from 76% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Cabernet Franc."
Winemaker Aaron Pott puts it best: "Jericho Canyon is poised to become one of the great estates of Napa Valley. It is a dragon slumbering in its cave atop a horde of treasure that is about to be awakened and unleashed."
