This is a rare Magnum (1.5L) bottle.
Formerly Rubicon Estates, Francis Ford Coppola reacquired the rights to the "Inglenook" namesake in 2011 and has now restored the original name of this historic Napa Valley estate, founded in 1879, and is working to bring its reputation for high-quality Napa Valley wine out of retirement. To that end, Coppola brought in winemaker Philippe Bascaules, from Chateau Margaux. The Rubicon name remains the moniker of the signature estate wine.
Pronounced aromas of dried cherries, coffee and fine tobacco precede rich flavors of black fruits and hints of licorice and spice. The weight, density and concentration of the fruit coupled with this vintage’s textured tannin layers will allow this vintage to develop additional complexity for years to come. Two hours of decanting is recommended before drinking; 2012 is a perfect vintage for collectors.
Brix26 Inside Scoop: During the last 25 years, Francis Ford Coppola has reunited all of the Estate's original vineyards and restored winemaking to the Inglenook chateau. In recognition of the importance of this site, the trademark was purchased in 2011, and the property was once again and forever named 'Inglenook'.
