One of our favorite small-production Sauvignon Blancs from Napa Valley! Highly recommended.
91 Points Wine Spectator: "Rich and succulent, with a complex mix of coconut water, mango, honeysuckle and saline flavors. Despite the richness, this has an air of elegance and lightness, fueled by a crisp lime note on the juicy finish. Drink now."
The Gamble Family 2017 Sauvignon Blanc from Yountville has tantalizing aromas of Meyer lemon, orange peel, and apricot with delicate white floral notes. Refreshingly crisp and dry, brimming with zesty citrus and minerality, balanced with a rich, round mouthfeel. Bursts of white grapefruit, key lime, honeycomb, lemongrass and wet slate dance on the palate and set the stage for a long, lingering finish. While a delight on its own, the structure of this wine also makes it great for enjoying with food.
One of the best Napa Valley Sauvignon Blancs we've discovered.
The Altamura 2016 Sauvignon Blanc comes from the winery's 4-acre 18-year-old dry-farmed vineyard which sits at an altitude of 850 feet. The wine is fermented and aged in new French oak barrels for 18 months resulting in a wine of great depth and complexity, displaying the flavor and textural profile more like a white Bordeaux than a California Sauvignon Blanc. Very limited production of 500 cases.
