97 Points Jeb Dunnuck:
"Moving to the Pinot Noirs, the 2019 Pinot Noir DuMOL Estate Vineyard reveals a deep ruby hue to go with classic notes of ripe black cherries, sappy underbrush, sassafras, and spring flowers. Straight-up gorgeous on the palate as well, it's medium to full-bodied and has a solid spine of acidity, wonderful depth of fruit, and a great, great finish. It has plenty of up-front appeal yet should cruise for a decade in cold cellars, if not longer."

94 Poins Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2019 Pinot Noir DuMOL Estate Vineyard is a serious Russian River Pinot that balances fruit intensity with structure. Readers should be prepared to cellar the 2019 for at least a few years, as the tannins are pretty imposing at this stage. Blue/purplish fruit, crushed rocks, lavender and licorice build as this decidedly brooding Pinot shows off its considerable brawn. "

previous vintage 96 Points Robert Parker:
"The DuMOL Pinot Noir Estate Vineyard comes from Swan and Calera clones planted in 2004 at a high vine density (3,630 vines per acre). Medium ruby-purple, it's richly scented of warm cranberry sauce, black cherries, tea leaves, tobacco and earth with floral notes. Medium-bodied, it floods the mouth with dark, earth-laced fruits cut through with bright red berry and citrusy pops. It has a firm, finely grained frame and addicting juiciness, finishing very long. Wow!"

Winemaker Notes: In the finest Pinot vintage in our 25-year history, this is the greatest expression yet of our high-density Estate Vineyard. I feel like this is the wine these vines have been patiently waiting to produce since planting. What sets this vintage apart from its excellent predecessors is a purity of fruit, unparalleled in intensity, verve and detail. It’s fruitier than previous vintages, with more mineral and less herbal nuances, as we altered our leaf canopy management in 2018, allowing the shoots to grow longer prior to summer trimming. This revised method slowed vegetative growth, restricting the vines’ energy and, ultimately, elevating the fruit quality. The result is a wine of authority and presence that is clearly just beginning its journey.
