95 Points - limited
Extremely rare Estate Cabernet from Cade - Limited.
95 Points Robert Parker: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, which is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon (and finished with a screwcap), cuts a broader swath even than the regular bottling, shows sightly sweeter tannin, perhaps more ripeness, but is plush, voluptuously textured, deep, full-bodied and impressively endowed. There is no reason to defer gratification, as this wine is already singing and expressive. Drink it over the next 15 or so years.....From the owners of Plumpjack Winery, Cade Estate Winery began strongly, and continues to exhibit promise."
94 Points Wine Spectator: "Balanced, deep, pure and precise, with a firm core of red and dark berry flavors and shades of mocha and cedar. For all that immediate appeal, there’s also a wonderful sense of harmony and finesse that builds and lingers through the long finish. Best from 2019 through 2029
94 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is bright and aromatically lifted, but it also has tons of depth and fruit voluptuousness. This is another fairly open-knit, opulent Howell Mountain Cabernet that emphasizes accessibility over structure. The Reserve has more richness, intensity and concentration than the Estate, but it is pretty similar in style."
CADE is Plumpjack's hot new winery on Howell Mountain. Limited.
This wine is filled with a gorgeous perfume of honeyed pears, guava, lemon grass, pink grapefruit and a waft of lemon lime soda. The palate is full of tropical flavors and delicate kiwi plus a greatintensity of lemon and lime citrus flavors. The semillon and viognier added to the blend invoke another level of complexity with flavors orange blossom and lemon curd. The barrel fermentations add a satiny texture, density and viscosity to the mid-palate of the wine. The concrete adds a touch of flint and mineral to the finish of the wine while the stainless steel fermentations preserve the natural Sauvignon Blanc aromatics, the racy backbone and the zesty crispness..

A new great-value Petite Sirah from the folks at PlumpJack's Odette Estate. Limited.
The Adaptation 2015 Petite Sirah is loaded with depth, superior concentration and a multitude of layers. It possesses aromatics of blackberry jam, plums, violets, and hints of brown sugar and nutmeg followed by raspberries, cloves and smoky oak on the palate.
New release of Plumpjack's Reserve Chardonnay - limited.
The 2017 PlumpJack Reserve Chardonnay is a fantastic Napa Chardonnay. Aromas of white peaches, pear, orange blossom and warm apple pie filling are followed on the palate with flavors of Fuji apples, cinnamon stick and lemon curd. Very pleasant to drink now but the acidity gives it room to age.
Plumpjack opts not for the typical profile of Napa Chardonnay with this bottling, but for the "alternative," without malolactic fermentation, and the attendant buttery palate profile. The winery's vintage note explains: "The cooler Carneros site imparts this wine with fresh green apple and Bartlett pear on the nose, while the warmer St. Helena site lends to some tropical notes. The Carneros vineyard also gives this wine a beautiful, bright, lively acidity, which is balanced by the creamy, rich texture of the St. Helena fruit. A touch of oak gives the wine traces of vanilla, flint, and spice."
