One of the Central Coast's most prized Pinot Noirs - limited.
96+ Points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2018 Pinot Noir Rosemary's Vineyard is more aromatic, with beautiful black raspberry fruits, notes of scorched earth, crushed flowers, and flinty minerality, medium to full body, beautiful balance, and an elegant, seamless style that carries stunning length on the finish."
96 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "Deep garnet. Fresh red and dark berry, floral and exotic spice qualities on the assertively perfumed nose, along with suggestions of cola, smoky minerals and succulent herbs. Shows superb clarity and spicy lift to the juicy cherry, raspberry and boysenberry flavors, which slowly deepen and turn spicier through the midpalate. Closes extremely long, smooth and precise, with resonating florality and a sweetening suggestion of vanilla. All destemmed fruit and 35% new French oak."
94+ Points Robert Parker: "A barrel sample, the 2018 Pinot Noir Rosemary's Vineyard has a pale to medium ruby color and bombastic scents of raspberry, strawberry, rhubarb and pomegranate preserves with accents of blood orange, potpourri, dried flowers, tree bark and amaro. Light to medium-bodied, the palate is bright, lively and intensely flavored with loads of floral nuance, a gentle frame and that classic, bright Talley freshness, finishing on a potpourri note."
previous vintage 95 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "Limpid ruby-red. A highly complex bouquet evokes red berry and cherry preserves, along with building Asian spice, candied rose, vanilla and smoky mineral accents. Shows superb delineation on the palate, offering lush, spice-tinged red fruit liqueur, cherry cola and spicecake flavors that pick up a sexy floral pastille nuance with air. Finishes extremely long and lively, with fine-grained tannins lending shape and grip to lingering raspberry and exotic spice notes. I'd happily pour this alongside plenty of Grand Crus from Vosne-Romanée that go for three times the price, if not more. 35% new French oak."

Silky, focused and lively in the mouth, offering sharply defined citrus and orchard fruit flavors complemented by suggestions of fennel, sweet butter and honeysuckle. Shows excellent concentration as well as energy, and finishes minerally, precise and very long, with repeating floral and pear notes. 28% new French oak."

The 2016 vintage of Rosemary’s Chardonnay is pale straw in appearance. On the nose, creamy notes of hazelnut and croissant are balanced by a hint of white flower. The palate is marked by a zesty acidity, with notes of lemon balm, juicy Golden Delicious apple, and crushed rock. Try pairing this chardonnay with Petrale sole garnished with a corn relish or soft Camembert cheese

93 Points - great buy
One of the Central Coast's finest producers of Pinot Noir.
93 Points Robert Parker: "listening ruby-red. Mineral- and spice-accented red berry and cherry aromas are complemented by cola and floral nuances. Silky and appealingly sweet, offering vibrant raspberry, cherry and rose pastille flavors braced by a building mineral quality. Shows fine definition and floral lift on the energetic, persistent finish, which is framed by smooth, well-knit tannins. 15% whole clusters and 30% new French oak....
...Two thousand eighteen marked Talley’s Rincon Vineyard’s 36th anniversary as the oldest vineyard in Arroyo Grande and the 32nd vintage for their wines. It’s hard to overstate the impact that the Talley family has had on high-quality grape-growing and winemaking (not to mention vegetable farming) in California’s Central Coast. The standard here is very high, starting with the impeccably maintained vineyards and extending to the winemaking, overseen since 2010 by Eric Johnson, who has helped place Talley in the upper tier of New World Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producers, a slot that they easily maintain with the 2018 vintage. Talley has slowly been expanding outside the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay box in recent years, with great success. Production is still small for their Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache and Syrah bottlings, but they are more than worth the search, which is probably best done by contacting the Talleys directly.”
The one superstar for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the Edna Valley is Talley Vineyards. Interestingly, they make most of their money growing vegetables rather than grapes. Yet Brian Talley and his team continue to turn out extremely elegant, European styled wines from this micro-climate at the southern end of the Edna Valley, not far from Arroyo Seco."
Talley's Estate Pinot Noir is bright crimson in appearance and expressive of the distinctive character of the Arroyo Grande Valley which produces well structured pinot noir. Mineral notes in the aroma are complemented by hints of cranberry chutney and a faint trace of cigar box. On the palate, this elegant and well balanced pinot noir displays notes of bright raspberry and a touch of black pepper. With refreshing acidity and great structure, this wine is ready to enjoy now but will age gracefully over the next decade.
