Rubion Estate 2008 CASK Cabernet Napa Valley is Francis Ford Coppola's "baby Rubicon" sourced from the illustrious Inglenook vineyard in Napa Valley, paying tribute to John Daniel, Jr. and the Inglenook Cask wines that made this property legendary. Layers of ripe, red cherry, plum , vanilla, cocoa and toast. The flavor is intense, but with a supple mouthfeel. Eminently enjoyable now, especially if served with intensely flavored meats or cheeses, but it can also be aged for 5 to 10 years.
Wine Enthusiast 95 points: " Gorgeous, elegant and ageworthy. With a softly tannic structure, it’s drinkable now, but should age and gain complexity for 10 years. Dry and smooth, it has complex flavors of blackberries, black cherries, currants, red licorice, cola and oak. Give it some time to breathe. Now–2017 ."
