Villa Creek Cellars grew from the intent by Cris and JoAnn Cherry to make a house wine for their restaurant of the same name. Now they produce some of the most highly regarded, and rated, wines in Paso Robles. Mas de Maha is their Spanish blend of Tempranillo, Grenache and Mourvedre. Very Limted- get the new 2006 before the ratings come out!
Review of preious vintage: 93 Points Robert Parker: "A brilliant effort, the opaque ruby/purple-tinged 2005 Mas de Maha tastes like a hypothetical blend of a top-notch Bandol and Chateauneuf du Pape from France and a Spanish Toro. A blend of 60% Tempranillo, 15% Grenache, and 15% Mourvedre, it offers an expressive bouquet of sandalwood, blueberries, raspberries, kirsch, pepper, resin, spice, and earth. Medium to full-bodied, seriously endowed, and complex, this tasty red will provide plenty of pleasure over the next 4-5 years."
