A delicious new small-production Chardonnay from one of the hottest up-and-coming wineries in Napa Valley. Only 575 cases produced.
The Tamber Bey 2006 Chardonnay contains elements of buttered corn and grilled bread, yet it tends more toward the citrus side of the fruit spectrum. Its entry is framed by the highest acidity for a Tamber Bey Chardonnay, which helps to focus the ripeness of the 2006 vintage. The palate tends back toward tropical fruits, with mouth-coating notes of lime blossom, roasted nuts and lychee. This wine is consistently the surprise of the vintage, and the 2006, with its razor focus, is no exception. Winemaker Thomas Brown was formerly with Turley and also consults for top wineries such as Outpost, Shrader, Nicholson Ranch and others.
