Sonoma-Loeb makes one of our favorite insider discoveries of the vintage - this is a fantastic Chardonnay that competes with the cults at twice the price - highly recommended.
Ambassador John Loeb Jr. has been growing grapes in Sonoma since 1973 and selling them to the area's best wineries. He devotes a small portion of his best Chardonnay to his own Private Reserve label, handcrafted by winemaker Phillip Titus. The Sonoma-Loeb 2006 Private Reserve Chardonnay has a rich, opulent style, with loads of flavor built around a core of ripe earthy fig, pear, apricot and melon, finishing with a gush of fruit and light hazelnut-scented oak. Delicious to the last drop. (1000 cases produced).
