This a fantastic new "under the radar" Pinot Noir sourced from the Durell Vineyard made famous by Kistler. One of those rare ‘rock star’ vineyards, Durell is coveted for its small clusters of deeplyconcentrated fruit. Saxon Brown is fortunate to be one of only a few wineries with access to the tiny Hayfield Block, from which we produce this elegant and age worthy Pinot Noir. Only 260 cases produced - extremely limited.
This Pinot Noir exhibits exceptional color. Aromas of sweet black cherry, blackberry, cinnamon and clove spice. Slightly more earthy than our Parmelee-Hill Pinot with a touch of chanterelle mushroom. A rich mouthfeel with long tannins and a lingering sweet, supple finish. This is a powerful yet seductive wine.
