New release of Heid Barrett's Paradigm Napa Valley!
Heidi Barrett is well-known as the winemaker for Screaming Eagle, but Paradigm is her secret sleeper from Oakville in Napa Valley. This brilliant Paradigm 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is gorgeous now, but the patient may see it rival the wonderful 1999 Paradigm as this winery's best Cab ever.
92 Points Connoisseur’s Guide: “This lovely wine starts with aromas of cassis and ripe cherries and opens with air to reveal hints of cocoa and raspberry syrup all of which might suggst a bit of overripeness. But there is nothinhg else about this relatively polished bottling that speaks to excess and, instead, it is supple and balanced, deep, and appropriately tanic at one and the same time. In short, it has the hallmarks of a very rewarding, long-aging wine."
Wine Spectator: "Notably complex and complete, with a mix of sweet, ripe currant, black cherry and plum accented by ample vanilla bean and mocha-scented oak. The tannins are firm, ripe and well-integrated, giving it an elegant mouthfeel. Best from 2007 through 2013. 4,000 cases made."
