Grgich Hills 2006 Estate Chardonnay, Napa Valley

Grgich Hills has always been known for its outstanding Chardonnay, and the new Grgich Hills 2006 Estate Chardonnay Napa Vallye only bolsters that reputation.

This is just the second vintage that Grgich Chardonnay is estate grown, meaning they control everything from the vineyard to the bottle. The grapes were grown organically at their American Canyon and Carneros vineyards, where the coolness allows the grapes to develop complex flavors while maintaining a pleasing natural acidity. They do not allow the Chardonnay to undergo malolactic fermentation. This preserves the wine's crispness and acidity to balance its concentrated fruit. The full-bodied, elegant Grgich Hills 2006 Chardonnay has fresh aromas of acacia and citrus flowers, honey and a touch of mineral.
