Rare Magnums of Far Niente 2006 Cabernet now available - limited!
Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon is grown primarily on the estate Stelling Vineyard, located behind the winery in Oakville. This 100-acre vineyard produces wines that exhibit the cassis, blackberry and "dusty" components typical of wines grown in the soils of western Oakville. In 2006, cooler temperatures in August and September contributed to a slightly later start to harvest than usual, but a nice heat spike in mid-September really kicked the vines into gear. The result? 2006 looks like a dream vintage for Napa Cabernet and the 2006 Far Niente is a intense, plush and silky Cabernet, with a velvety mouthfeel and a palate bursting with blackberry and black cherry fruit, around a dense core of chewy tannins. The last 2 vintages have been rated 93+ points by Wine Spectator and this one is sure to score off the charts!
