Pedestal 2007 Merlot, Washington State

Michel Rolland, possibly the most influentual winemaker in the field, takes Merlot to new heights rarely seen in the US with Pedestal. Choosing from the best grapes grown in Washinton State, he crafts a multi-dimensional, multi-layered, ageable wine reminsicent of Pomerol (where he lives) but containing characteristics unique to the Pacific Northwest. A highly collectible wine. 77% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot. Very Limited. Only 1800 cases produced.
