Dear Friend of Brix26, We've received a "last call" from the winery for one of our most popular Cabernets this year, the 2005 Papillon Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley from Orin Swift Cellars, best known for the acclaimed wine The Prisoner.  Winemaker Dave Phinney uses fruit from the best sources in Napa Valley where some of the big cult wines come from, including the Tofanelli Vineyard, to craft this blockbuster Cabernet that has been getting serious buzz in Napa Valley and extremely high praise from our customers since its inaugural release in March.  Big, rich and meaty, we highly recommend this delicious new Cabernet before it sells out. Orin Swift 2005 "Papillon" Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley - $55 Tasting Notes:  What an impressive young Cabernet! Well-integrated notes of coffee bean, black currant and chocolate, the wine is elegant, full-bodied, and expansive and fleshy, beautifully nuanced and nicely structured, with plush, silky tannins.  63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc 7% Malbec, 2% Petite Verdot. The Label: Once again, as with The Prisoner, the artwork is as impressive as the wine: The label is a photo taken by world renowned photographer and wine lover, Greg Gorman, of vineyard manager Vince Tofanelli's hands.  Fun Fact: Apparently Dave has always been a fan of the 1973 prison-break movie "Papillon" starring Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman!   We also have a small amount of Orin Swift's extremely limited 2005 Mercury Head Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley ($75) available while our allocation lasts.
