Gamba 2009 Old Vines Zinfandel Moratto Vineyard, Russian River
Purchase
New release of one of our favorite boutique California Zins! Only 650 cases produced, get this up-and-coming Cult Zin before its gone.
If you love the BIG Zin style made famous by wineries such as Turley, Rosenblum and Ridge, you owe it to yourself to get on the Gamba Zinfandel bandwagon. Deep ruby/purple color as well as notes of black currants, plums, and briery mountain fruit. With medium to full body, good sweetness, impressive texture, well-integrated acidity and wood, and a long, heady finish, this is a classic Zinfandel to drink over the next 4-5 years.
Robert Parker: "...Gamba Zinfandel possesses tremendous intensity, a creamy, full-bodied palate, fine purity, and a long, spicy, heady finish. One of the finest Zins of the vintage, it should drink well for 5-7 years."
