Campesino 2009 Sangiacomo Old Lakeville Syrah, Sonoma Coast
Price: $34.99
Purchase
A fantastic tiny-production Syrah discovery - only 100 cases were produced.
94 Points The Rhone Report: "A worthy succor to the fantastic '08, the 2009 Campesino Syrah Sangiacomo Old Lakeville Vineyard (aged 18 months in 25% new oak and 75% used oak barrels) is a brilliant Syrah that boasts dense black fruits, smoked game, bacon fat, pepper, and crushed stone like minerality that literally comes leaping from the glass. This is followed by a full-bodied, deeply concentrated Syrah that has fantastic mid-palate depth, beautifully integrated acidity, and a long, structured, finish. Showing old world like aromatics, yet superb concentration and depth, this thrilling Syrah needs 3-4 years of bottle age, and should have 15+ years of longevity!"
