95+ Points Robert Parker: "The 2007 Pinot Noir Mount Carmel cuts a stylistic path between the rich, fruit-driven Melville and the more earthy, barnyardy, terroir-driven Clos Pepe. The Mount Carmel offers plenty of blue and red fruits intermixed with hints of smoke, roasted herbs, earth, pomegranate, and underbrush. The sweetness of the tannins, beautiful full-bodied mouthfeel, and good acidity all reflect another brilliant Pinot Noir from this exceptionally talented duo. It should drink well for 10-15 years."

Brewer-Clifton is a collaborative project uniting winemakers Steve Clifton (Palmina, Tritono) and Greg Brewer (Diatom, Melville) designed to showcase the terroir of Santa Barbara County. This young, dynamic duo makes delicious wines, and their 2007 vintage is superlative. This is the first-ever appellation bottling for the winery, creating a more affordable wine with great regional character from the same high-quality fruit that goes into the single-vineyard offerings.

Brewer-Clifton Winery

Brewer-Clifton Vineyards

Born of an obsession with Santa Barbara County terroir, Greg Brewer and Steve Clifton formed Brewer - Clifton in the early 1990’s. From our initial production of 1996, the Brewer-Clifton Winery pursuit has been to express the individual identity of particular sites within our appellation. They set out to put the essence of the best vineyards in the area into a bottle.
